Photos from Lake Taupo

Lake Taupo is a geologically active site. Earthquakes are not uncommon. Also, there are geothermal vents that produce hotsprings and eruption of hot gases. At one spot on the shore of Lake Taupo, the water is too hot to enter and steam can be seen rising from the beach.
This spot is named Crater of the Moons. You can see that smoke is rising from holes in the ground. This area is a little bit like some of the places in Yellowstone National Park in the US, but not as scenic in my opinion.
Huka Falls is quite scenic, I think. The color of the water is really beautiful.
